What is the SoftWide® system?

The SoftWide® system is the world's leading solution for the electronic delivery and on-site manufacture of retail software products through the existing retail channel. Tribeka's unique in-store system replicates CDs and prints product specific high quality colour inlays and up to 30 page manuals in an industry standard DVD-style box full package within a few minutes of customer request. The delivered product is identical or superior in quality to the shrink-wrapped version. Indeed, SoftWide® has a number of fundamental international patents pending.

Why is the SoftWide® system so efficient?

The SoftWide® concept is a complete supply chain solution for software (and other digital media) providing a greater range of titles together with rigorous and continuous control of stock levels through “Just In Time” and “On Demand” service. SoftWide® stock is "virtual": it is not subject to shrinkage and does not depreciate in value. Retailer, publisher and customer reap the financial benefits of no stock, no distribution costs, no unsold returns, no pilferage and no product obsolescence.

How does SoftWide® work?

Once an order is placed in-store, the SoftWide® system automatically obtains authorisation from Tribeka’s Control Centre via secured license release and starts in-site replication of the product. The entire process, including the printing of a user manual and colour inlay is completed within a few minutes. Each title manufactured through the SoftWide® system is released through an authentic publisher license key or SoftWide® generated serial number. Titles cannot be manufactured without direct authorisation by Tribeka's, security protected, Central Control Centre. All products undergo a rigorous approval process by both Tribeka and individual publishers prior to their availability on the SoftWide® system.

SoftWide® technology already offers products for PC Windows, Apple Mac OS, Pocket PC, mobile phone accessories and talking books. The SoftWide ® solution is also capable of supporting music and is easily upgradeable to DVD for the release of console platforms.
