Tribeka - One of the First to Offer Kaspersky 2011 to Customers On 1st July Tribeka offered the new Kaspersky 2011 products for sale to its UK customers. Due to the mechanisms incorporated by the SoftWide system, Tribeka was able to ensure that their retail partners in the UK were able to offer the products to the customers on day 1 of the product release. This allows retailers such as Tesco the opportunity to offer an unbridled service to their customers, re-enforcing their dominate position in the retail market.
Mark Furtado, Head of DRM at Tribeka, said “The launch of Kaspersky 2011 products, seamlessly to our retail partners around the world, on the Release Day once again emphasizes the way SoftWide can increase its retail partners’ access to products. Our retail partners in the UK, such as Tesco, will be one of the first retailers selling these new Kaspersky products. With unlimited stock the products are always available and retailers are able to serve all their customer demands no matter what volume is required.” Having signed a significant deal with SoftWide last month, Tesco has been transformed from a bit-player
in the software market to a serious contender, with a thousand lines under its belt. The deal looks set
provide a powerful boost to its entertainment division, as well as the technology and electricals side of
the business – both of which have seen significant rises in recent months anyway. Andrew Wooden
finds out more from Rob Salter, category director for entertainment at Tesco…
"SoftWide gives you the
opportunity to open up
a range where you’re
only creating physical
products at the point
where you’ve got an
actual order. There’s no
real limitation on that."

ESET Signs Up to Tribeka’s Retail Revolution Bournemouth, UK (17th June 2010) - ESET UK announced today an agreement with Tribeka that will see ESET’s award-winning software sold by Tesco and other major retailers as part of Tribeka’s revolutionary distribution system, SoftWide. A unique on-site publishing model, SoftWide dramatically reduces warehouse storage and transportation requirements, in addition to cutting down on wastage; making it not only a cost effective distribution method, but environmentally friendly too.
Customers will be able to buy ESET Smart Security and ESET NOD32 Antivirus from participating SoftWide outlets either online or instantly manufactured to order in store. Once the purchase is complete, the product is then manufactured on-site within minutes. By partnering with Tribeka, ESET can guarantee that its boxed products are always available in store, whilst ensuring no loss of quality in the end product.
"One of the biggest challenges in retail is predicting what the public want to buy from one day to the next and ensuring that it is in stock," says Amanda Davies, Retail Channel Manager of ESET UK. "Tribeka’s on-site publishing model eliminates this issue, whilst enabling considerable cost savings on storage and stock management. This, combined with providing an entry point into major high street retail outlets, makes Tribeka’s innovative distribution model a very attractive proposition to ESET."
ESET Smart Security is a tightly integrated anti-malware product designed to protect computers from a range of threats. Built on the award-winning ESET NOD32 Antivirus and its powerful ThreatSense engine, ESET Smart Security provides antispyware, antispam and customised firewall features to protect home and business users from Internet threats. ESET NOD32 Antivirus proactively detects and eliminates more viruses, trojans, worms, adware, spyware, phishing, rootkits and other Internet threats than any program available.
"The principal of SoftWide’s model is to enable retailers to offer a wide choice of key software titles, with constant availability. With a record-setting 62 VB100 awards from Virus Bulletin, the widely-respected independent comparative testing group, we welcome ESET’s internet security products into our rapidly growing software range," says Mark Furtado, Head of Digital Rights at Tribeka.

DALLAS (December 1, 2009) – MumboJumbo, leading developer and publisher of premium casual games, has teamed with Tribeka, the brains behind the on-demand manufacturing offered at the new Microsoft Stores, to distribute a five-game assortment through the stores software kiosk system. PC Spezialist now offers huge software range with no costs
PC Spezialist today announced it has launched SoftWide® the revolutionary software delivery solution.
The PC chain PC Spezialist in Bielefeld, subsidiary of the largest IT-Group in Europe Synaxon AG, launched 1 September its five-month pilot of SoftWide®. PC Spezialist has established the exclusive rights with Tribeka for SoftWide® for Germany. In the participating PC Spezialist stores in Kassel, Potsdam and Schwerin customers can choose for immediate delivery over 300 software titles over tenfold more than these stores offered. The number of titles is expected to increase to over 600 titles in the next few months.
SoftWide® has already been in operation since May 2009 with PC Spezialist in Luxembourg which has successfully proved this revolutionary delivery solution for software retailing where the product is manufactured in store as required.
The huge range of software is not only merchandised on shelf, but manufactured on demand or just in time for customers. This means the software does not need to be ordered and delivered in advance, just manufactured within about 2 minutes onto CD or DVD with all the packaging manufactured as required. For PC Spezialist customers this ensures an enormous choice whilst also for the PC Spezialist stores it not only increases the offer but reduces all the costs of managing the stock conventionally.
“The advantage is obvious: we increase the available software-assortment of PC Spezialist stores many times and simultaneously minimize the efforts” says Andreas Wenninger, SYNAXON´s COO. “Our customers will benefit from more choice and comfort in buying software and our stores will benefit from competitive advantages such as reduced capital commitment.”
The software offer already ranges from operating systems, office applications and utility software to commercial software and entertainment. Most key vendors support the project including Abbyy, Avanquest, Buhl Data, Kaspersky, G Data, Roxio and S.A.D.
Daniel Doll-Steinberg, CEO of Tribeka, says “We are delighted to have launched SoftWide in Germany with PC Spezialist and we look forward to these stores being the first of a rapid nationwide rollout. It has been a pleasure partnering with Synaxon to ensure that the installations were on schedule for 1 September and that the SoftWide® offered a compelling product offer of local content from day one. With their high levels of customer service and dynamic vision we will continue to work closely with Synaxon and their stores to deliver a complete solution for software, and in time movies and console games, throughout Germany.”
